The Cub Run PTA Volunteer 3 Pledge

Did you know, according to the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Research and Improvement, that students are more likely to get good grades if their parents have participated in at least one activity at their school in the last year? (See nces.ed.gov/pubs2001/2001032.pdf)  You can support your student(s) and our school, by signing up to help!  We ask that each parent or caregiver consider volunteering three hours of time per year, and we call this our “Volunteer 3” program.
  • WHAT? The Volunteer 3 program helps families plan meaningful ways to be involved in their student’s learning experience.
  • WHO? Parents, guardians, or other trusted family members.
  • WHY? Research shows that students do better in school when their parents and family members engage in the school community. Family involvement plays a CRUCIAL role in the long-term academic success of children. A partnership between home and school makes a big difference in creating the most ideal learning environment for students. It’s also a great way to connect with other parents and become a part of the Cub Run community.
  • WHEN? You can fulfill your pledge anytime during the school year.
  • HOW? It’s EASY. You can volunteer for small projects, one-time activities, large projects, or year-round. It’s up to you, your schedule, and your comfort level. Just fill out this form to dedicate 3 hours of your time to volunteering at Cub Run.

Become a PTA Board Member

We still need a Teacher/Staff Appreciation Chair for the 2022/2023 School Year.  This position coordinates staff lunches, treats, and goodies to make the teachers and staff feel valued.  Email the PTA President to ask about helping on the PTA Board or Board-lead teams that could use support (Spring Fling, Cub-Run-a-Thon, etc.).  Huge thanks to our 19 parent volunteers and principal and vice principal who make up our PTA board!
