Silver Knight's Chess Tournament

Players check in at 12:30 p.m.
At CUB RUN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in the Cafeteria.

Welcome all chess players – those who want to try their first chess tournament or rated players with more experience. We will have five different sections for players depending on their age and skill.  Children play only against opponents in their own section. The first round will begin at 1:00 p.m. for all sections. The tournament concludes around 5:00 p.m. with an awards ceremony where the top players and top school receive trophies.
  • Players should arrive around 12:45pm
  • The first round begins at 1:00pm
  • All sections are non-elimination, and all players participate in all four rounds
  • We provide FREE US Chess Federation memberships for all participants, a $17 value!
  • For players using chess clocks, the time control is G/25 with a 5-second time delay

Concession Volunteers Needed

All concession sales at the event will benefit classroom projects for our special needs students as well as the Student Support Grant, which provides clothing and school supplies for Cubbies in need.
Please donate baked goods to the concession stand by clicking here. Donations can be brought to the event or dropped off in the school office on Friday March 10.
