Welcome all chess players – those who want to try their first chess tournament or rated players with more experience. We will have five different sections for players depending on their age and skill.  Children play only against opponents in their own section. The first round will begin at 1:00 p.m. for all sections. The tournament concludes around 5:00 p.m. with an awards ceremony where the top players and top school receive trophies.

• Players should arrive around 12:45pm
• The first round begins at 1:00pm
• All sections are non-elimination, and all players participate in all four rounds
• We provide FREE US Chess Federation memberships for all participants, a $17 value!
• For players using chess clocks, the time control is G/25 with a 5-second time delay

Online registration is $50 before noon on Friday Nov. 11 (the day before the event). From Friday at noon until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, online registration is $60.

All concession sales at the event will benefit either the Cub Run Family Services Center or Cub Run Special Needs Grant. Pizza by the slice, popcorn, various snacks, and soft drinks will be available.
