What is the Cub Run-a-Thon?
Students ask donors to sponsor their run during our Cub-Run-a-Thon event, which helps the PTA fund school grants, events, and large-scale improvement projects. On October 13, at the in-school event, students will run as many laps as possible through a fun but challenging obstacle course. We ask students to register online at the start of school so their donations can be tracked and they can earn fun prizes for themselves, their class, and the entire school.
What Do We Do with the Money?
Funds are used to support the STEAM, music, art, PE, and special needs programs; provide technology improvements; reimburse teachers for classroom purchases; hold school-wide events like the Dance, Spelling Bee, and Talent Show; supplement cleaning supplies in the cafeteria; assist in-need students; and was even used to build the Outdoor Classroom. This year’s funds will also help pay for a new mural in the atrium and begin our multi-year goal of installing a new digital street sign.
What Is This Year’s Financial Goal?
Our Total School Fundraising Goal for 2021 is $30,000. If students can try to raise $60 for this important effort, we will meet our goal! And when students meet their goals, lots of fun happens at Cub Run!
What Will I Get if I Participate?
With individual and classroom incentives, your student will want to get started early!
Want the principal to kiss a pig? Dress in costume? Be slimed? Register by September 15, 2021 for a chance to vote for the school wide prize! Plus all students who hit their goal have a chance to go to the Cub Run Night at the Museum – come to school at night, play games in the halls, use the intercom, sit at the principal’s desk, skateboard down the halls, and more!
How Can My Student Raise Money?
Cubbies can ask neighbors, friends, and family to sponsor their run; hold a bake sale; or run a lemonade stand. We are always impressed with Cub Run students’ great ideas! But first, you must register your child on the GetMovin’Grew website to get started.
